Since last Sunday, 10 players have joined or rejoined the ladder, making participation reach 61 players. As mentioned earlier in the thread, we've seen an extensive list of updates to the ladder, mostly aimed at making it a more accessible and enjoyable experience to new players. We hope this trend continues, as higher membership creates better competition and a stronger community.
This has been a week with Rufus on top. He managed to hold the top spot the entire week, no doubt aided by his 15 game winstreak starting friday last week, which was ended by Juan two days ago. ONE! continues to dominate the top ten, with 5 members present.

Thanks to the power vested in us by nepotism, the second player of the week is Jache from Optimum! He is a relatively new player on the MTL, with only 28 games completed. However, as a former 1v1 ladder trophy holder, and a 1st and 2nd place on the seasonal ladder, Jache is surely one to watch out for in the future!

You have only recently joined the MTL, with a total of 28 games completed. What made you join?
MTL is among the hardest competition with AWP finals and seasonal. Rufus is there, and many very strong players are there to take his throne for 10 games (more if they can), I would like to try myself. Also some other strong players do not play the seasonal or AWP, so I am happy to meet them there.
Speaking of playing strong players, you recently made crumbles out of Buns, and Ive noticed a clean sweep of all ONE!-members on the ladder. Are they taking it personal?
Haha! One is a great clan, I am happy that I had a good run against them. I really like when annoying players are crying in the chat. But here, I think they are chill/experienced enough not to care about it, sadly
Do you think that will change when you eventually take one of their 5 top 10 placements?

Lets not only look towards the top, there are plenty of strong players below you as well! The previous couple of weeks have seen MoriOri, Xenophon and myself rejoining the ladder, all set on challenging for the trophy. Are there anyone youre dreading or looking forward to matching up with?
Beside the boss, namely Rufus, I have understood that Buns is very well considered, so he would be high in my list. Tornado is high. If I had not played many times against them, Octane and Xenophon would also be very interesting to match. I hope that Aika comes back to the MTL, cause he is from the new generation and I want to see if he can compete with Octane and Rufus. Same for No One and Adrenaline, I would like them to join. I also have an eye on PS, and waiting for the come back of Alexclusive as well.
No mention of me there it seems, surely a mistake! As a fairly new player on the ladder, do you have any words of encouragement for players who consider joining the MTL in the near future?
The recent updates, developed by Beren, render the MTL a great competition to make progress in the strategic WZ place at your own pace. Also you can discover new templates that have been carefully selected by amazing judges, so a lot of fun is waiting for you there. I know that players such as Flexus are afraid to test new horizons, but any man with balls should consider coming. Don’t take me wrong, girls are also welcome.
Notable Games:Juan vs Rufus:

Juan was ahead after picks, as the almighty pick cycle gave him first pick and a counter while kicking Rufus out of the north. Rufus got the read right on turn 2, protecting his bonus from Juan on the double border, but it fell the next turn while Rufus finished his other +2. Turn 4 gave Juan a neat 3 income lead, and while Rufus almost managed to turn the game on both turn 11, 15 and 16, the army advantage carried Juan through the game and to victory.
MoriOri vs Bechaa:
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=37620481The game started with a bang, as MoriOri eliminated Bechaa in the east on turn 4 and Bechaa returned the favour in the west on turn 8. And then it was quiet, but not for long! Turn 11 saw Bechaa deploying heavily in the center. If not misplacing the 12 armies, then at least committing prematurely as they met the same turn. A stack disadvantage in the south for Bechaa, lead to a broken bonus in the north! MoriOri proceeded to catch Bechaa of guard when Bechaa flanked his bonus by bombing forward. In the following turns Bechaa broke 1 bonus while MoriOri broke 3, and that was gg.
Philippe vs El.Candy:
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=37624692A harmonious Battle Islands V battle between the Harmony newcomers on the ladder. Both went for the somewhat unconventional strategy of clusterpicking the inefficient +3 in the south, something I do not recommend doing. The 4 picks were split, and they ended up with two picks each. Philippe´s 4th pick, an efficient +3 bonus, proved to be the deciding factor. A testament to the value of picking efficient bonuses with a decent spread! El.Candy committed to finishing the inefficient +3, despite getting his 5th pick and with full knowledge of philippe having two picks to counter it. The bonus was broken and there was no coming back from that for El.Candy.
