I love the map, but it's very not accurate- for example the Jerusalem wall (and it's gates) was built only at the 16 century (and some of the gates were built after it). And the gates do not turn to the right places- Jaffa gate is called like that because it's turn to Jaffa. Also- why you haven't put lakes and seas like the Dead sea?

I quickly figured out why this map is so loved and adored here. It is simply fun playing on it. You have many of possibilites, you can use your personal playing style here, you can attack or hide, diversity of territories enable complex battles without overextensive complicating. A very good Map! First of all I didn't recognise the Islands as Greece. Than I understood and fought my way through. It's really tough to survive and gain an advance in the end. Best for me was to hold against Jerusalem and quickly occupy Egypt though it's aburdly not historical. But I must simply declare that the whole map seems to be somewhat quite authentical. Well done! Thank You! Five stars!

This is a great map for newcomers and veterans to enhance and utilize their strategies. Usually this map is used in a solo non-diplomatic game mode with local-deployments and luck modifier turned off. Picking a claim is easy if you know which bonus to capitalize on. The higher value bonuses such as Rum and Jerusalem are a liability to secure early on but after 8 turns it's these bonuses that matter. Risk and Reward go hand in hand.

Very good and challenging map! 5 stars. It took about 30 tries, but I finally figured out what strategy to take to get the gold star. Have to admit, I didn't think it was possible but after a lot of tries and different strategies, I finally figured out that those islands are the key! I don't give out 5 stars very often, but this one deserves it.

I am still quite new to the game, started playing one month ago. But I so much liked playing this map, that I wanted to give feedback somehow, so I rated a map for the first time and wrote a review for the first time. I very much enjoyed two things there. One of them is its historical setting and second was its playability in sigle player campaign with local deployments, but I guess that is unrelated to the map itself.

I enjoyed this map very much, it was a neat design.
DEFENSE was strategically more important than on most others played, although I didn't understand the Team B and Team C concept or distinctions. Can someone explain their relevance, please??
Also, I'd like to understand the troop limits/caps, which I don't grasp yet.
I need to be quicker to obtain Citadels and not be as methodical as with others.

Loved it!
I find the map really well made, it's historic (massive bonus point for me) and the forts make for interesting strategic decisions. An personally I always prefer when the flow of forces need to be directed and decided from the back (most of the forces appear in forts) rather than appearing directly on the front.

Finally stared this map. Previously rated as a 1 for gold star because the AI were not fighting each other. Instead they built up massive stacks of 40 to 80 and sat and waited in the fog for me to get near. Made it impossible to star because it takes at least 4 turns to break them down. The AI truce would allow Cairo and Damascus to send in waves of 20 to 40 stacks. they finally fought each other as well as me and I was able to get the star. Not sure if its a glitch or just luck.

Interesting set up - little tricky for the 1st half of the game - then it becomes some what lopsided after that. They should do some programming to allow the AI's to surrender when it's obvious they can't win the game. It'd speed things up & make it more enjoyable once you begin to dominate the game.
Human p[layers can surrender when they realize it's hopeless. They should do the same for the AI's.

Really enjoyed this map upon returning ti it after playing other single player levels that helped me learn to play better/ then return to this map and win this level

Great game play and intriguing. Dispersion of armies can be very time consuming. It would be nice if you could automatically deploy required number of armies to the required cities. Very tough to get the Gold Star but doable.

Boring ... Very long and ininteresting to always transfer armies from local production citadels which are far and far away from combat zone ... stupid and boring. If you don' do transfer, armies stay in citadels and then your production is limited ... totaly stupid !
