Fun to play on, if not a little displeasing aesthetically. This can be a fun map for all sorts of game types, from 1v1 to giant ffa's.
The combination of seperate city bonuses that you must take to complete the regular bonuses opens up the window for fun and different gameplay if the host takes advantage of this in the settings.
Choke-points, rivers, mountain passes and other natural blockades make this map fun to play on strategically, as do the harbours and general layout of the bonuses.
The only downside about this map is that at a first glance it is ugly and hard to understand.
I give this map 5/5, it's a classic map that is alot of fun to play on.

I love this map! It is very fun and is not to big, but is big enough that a game will last a while. It is pretty well balanced as well. Try playing on the "forifications" or "war of the ring" distribution mode. It's a great map, even if you aren't a huge LOTR fan.

Despite my lack of success playing it, I love this map -- and not solely because I am a die-hard Tolkien fan. I also appreciate the interesting strategic aspects: there are terrain features (mountains, rivers) that create choke-points, and I really like the way the city strongholds are surrounded by their adjacent territories, allowing layers of defense.

My FAVORITE MAP!!! The one thing I could possibly say negative about it is the west side of the river is much easier to defend than the right. It has more choke points.

This is a really fun and challenging map. I have had some really fun multi-player games with it. The bottle neck passes and gates make it challenging. The fortified cities can also be challenging to put someone away.

It really is a battle. After a few moves the fight starts, and does not stop until the last few moves. For the smaller maps it is one of (maybe) the best.

Fairly lore accurate map, with plenty of choke points and paths. There are a few extremely out of the way places, and the game suffers some from no map wrap, but overall an entertainingly strategic map to play.

I liked this map. It requires a little strategy, and if you know the map, you can use the terrain to your advantage. A great advantage. There are quite a lot of choke spots that you can guard.

Horrible layout and difficult to move troops

It is an excellent concept. This can be proven when I attempt to use in a Multiplayer match - I can attract 5 other players in less than a minute! However, as the game progresses, I unfortunately find that I often become bored of the layout. Maybe have a more interesting bonus system, split up more territories? Have a think!
