the borders remind me of the old pixel games for the computer, to make it nicer you might want to smooth them out, but it brought back fun memories

I enjoyed playing this map. However the pixel like borders will annoy a few, but its a decent map. However, I got annoyed in greece with the small islands.

awesome map. should include bonuses for parthian, macedonian, assyrian,babylonian,and mithradatic empires. the sahara shouldn't be -5. other than those things, it is flawless!

A very large and accurate map of ancient Europe. The map is relatively well balanced, although the western powers usually manage to build up large armies faster.
The rather jagged borders of the territories look somewhat weird, but that's really a small complaint.
All in all a great map, especially if you're looking for something historically accurate.

I somehow missed reviewing this one when I played it a while back. I give it 3 stars. At its foundation, the map is solid, but it has some issues (other than the 8-bit looking artwork). First, the superbonuses are too high and out of proportion. Second, it looks like the maker intended to make Parthian and Macedonian superbonuses, but just forgot to. Finally, the island chains - especially the Aegean - are difficult to distinguish from one another.

This was a very good map. In the beginning, I felt as if I was actually controlling a historical empire. I will be sure to play this again in the future.
