So maybe you have heard, Dr Typesomething took his own life in late March.
He had a PhD in science from UC-Berkeley. He had a fiancee. He had a lot of friends. His entire life was ahead of him. Yet, apparently the stresses of his profession got the best of him.
If you yourself have stresses in your own life, there are many things you can do. There is no need to end your life. Seek help. Talk to friends or family. Change your lifestyle. Find a new job that you would enjoy. Move to a place you think would make you feel better. Take a trip. Find a new lover. Go to a church/mosque/synagogue/temple to meet people. Get involved in your community. Pick up a sport or hobby. Whatever it takes.
We are human beings, and the 'being' part is a sine qua non.
I had read that post of his once before- thank you for the re-post. I found it very profound and well said, upon both readings. I will say a prayer on his behalf today.....
Yeah he described a lot of things that make WL so appealing for a lot of us in that post. I didn't know him; didn't even play many games with him but still this is somber. Gui said all there is to say about taking one's own life.

:( It's very sad...that a young man who just finished his studies didn't have the force and the opportunity to do great things in life, to realize his dreams...i don't know what to say, i wished he have spoken with someone beofre doing that, maybe someone could have helped him... RIP

I still find this difficult to believe. I don't know where this information was ultimately derived from, but ... it's hard to imagine this being the central explanation.
That's a shame. Sounds like he was doing a hell of a lot more with his life than I currently am, lol. Wish I could have got one more one vs one with him. I actually wish that in regards to a lot of players that have vanished over the last couple years. I vaguely remember him winning that membership tourney, if only because of how few games played he had at the time.
