Native American tribal wars so far: http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer.aspx?PreviewMap=18170

Based on:

http://indigenoushistory.wordpress.com/category/great-lakes/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Early_Localization_Native_Americans_NY.svg

Anyone know of any maps (online) for Native American tribes north and west of Lake Superior BEFORE contact with Europeans (yet not too early, so maybe between 1500-1630)?

Stunningly beautiful, great geography. Should you need help testing it Gui, I'll run a few live tourneys on it as soon as it's playable! ^^

I've drawn the waterways so far. All the black space between waterways and behind the colored boxes is empty land where the territories will be drawn. The colored regions are approximate tribal spheres of influence. The tentative plan:

- break up the spheres of influence into bonuses with 3-9 territories
- each river and lake will be a natural barrier
- at strategic locations on the waterways I'll add canoes, and will either make the canoes neutrals or make each worth -1 (for the labor and resources needed to make a canoe)…In this way bonuses across from each other will be largely protected but also will be accessible by canoe (and at a cost)
- 40-60 territorial bonuses, 20+ canoes, 200+ territories

If I like the results and have time, I'll make a new map of France using its rivers as natural barriers.

maybe canoes on the same river will connect to each other too…but I want to see the board first before I decide to do that.
