Hello,

From time to time I encounter fellow chess players on this site. Now it is time to see how many of us are really here! Here are the rules of the thread:

1) I start the thread with a puzzle posting a picture and the side that has the move
2) Person who solves the puzzle posts the solution (standard notation will be algebraic short K-King N-Knight R-Rook B-Bishop Q-Queen x-takes #-checkmate + meaning check +- meaning white's dominant advantage and -+ black's advantage)
3) Person who posted the puzzle confirms the solution (not only the first move, the whole variation at least including main lines)
4) Person who solved the puzzle is obligated to post next puzzle
5) Use to post pictures
6) Preferably don't use Fritz, Rybka, Shredder or any related chess engines
7) ...?
8) Profit! :)

White to move and win :)
Good luck

p.s. You can use apronus chess board editor to set up the positions so tha no one can find the source.

Okay, are rooks the towers or the little guys you have 8 of?
And do I get it right: you get to post a single move that makes a check-mate?

Oh, it is not a puzzle "mate in n moves". You just find a sequence of moves that forcefully put black in ammuch worse position, meaning either checkmate or a loss of material. Maybe that one was a bit too hard, but I wanted to scout the level of puzzles I should post...

Rooks are the towers Moros... The little guys are pawns and they do not have a letter in algebraic-short nottation.

Wilfred Owen, please post the whole variation, not only 1st move. For example 1. Ba6 Rb8, what next?

I guess you meant 1. Nxc7? If that's the case, no, 1. Nxc7 Nb6, white need to have sth more forceful :)

Ok, i'll give it 48 huors, if the puzzle is not solved by then, I'll replace it with an easier one.

White sacrifise Bishop Be2g5; Be7xg5; Bf1b5
from there you can use your own minds.

@dreuj wont work cause of c7c6

way to go is Be3g5 since white needs the black Bishop to clear c5

right c7c6 was foolish, but there still are a lot of options, he could just move the rook.

myhand, if 1. Bg5 then 1. ... Bxg5 2. Bb5? bot 2. ... Rd8 and 2. ... Nb6 work as a viable defense

dreuj, if 1. Ba6 Rb8 2. Qxb7 then just 2. ... Rxb7 so I don't see the progress
