I just saw on Richard Sharpe's map a county named Gay Head, and a Slave Lake I stumbled on in Canada. And there are about 5 counties named after a capital in the state of New York. Who else knows any funny or interesting counties/communes/municipalities/regions/provinces/any other subdivision? Btw, it has to appear in a WL map.

On the Albania map there's a territory called "Puke".

yes there is a town named dildo, it's in Newfoundland.
Oh and theirs two Slave lakes.

There are actually a lot of odd names in Newfoundland as many places were named by early fishermen from Wales and Ireland. the first ships captain in any cove or harbour was pretty much the governor of the area for the season. A lot of times they wanted the names to make the place sound really great.

Famished Gut - The crew were out of supplies when they got there. Gut as in a gut of land not your stomach.

Gayside - as in happy

Conception Bay - Take a guess

Blow me Down - It was windy

Come-by-Chance - It wasn't the cove they were looking for

Joe Bat's arm - Arm as in a spit of land. the ship captain that had the rights to it was Name Joe Bat

Cow Head - I guess there was a cow involved

There's a Moose Jaw in Canada

The Hong Kong map has some territories named Healthy Village, Happy Valley and Belcher. There are also quite a few that incorporate the word "Kok," including Sha Tau Kok, which I like to think is pronounced "Shadow Cock."

Although it's too small to be a territory, even on the Big Canada map, Alberta has a place called Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. They even have an "[interpretive centre](http://www.head-smashed-in.com/centre.html)" and it's a UNESCO World Heritage site.

I was proud to be Canadian. Then I read this post.
