Hello, everyone. I created this forum to support Vamp - EZSTreet's forum, "Moderators Needed!" I give credit to his forum because as I was reading his forum and his replies, and I started replying under his thread, I wondered, "If Fizzer allowed moderators on Warlight.net, how many people would volunteer to be a moderator without pay?" So, I am here to collect that information on how many people would volunteer without pay, if moderators were allowed. So, if you would like to volunteer to be a moderator without pay, please post here, and post why you would like to be a moderator to show Fizzer how many people support moderators on Warlight.net, and how many people would volunteer to be a moderator without pay, if they were allowed on Warlight.net. Fizzer, if you are reading this, please take the time to read some of my replies and please take the time to find out how many people would like to volunteer to be a moderator without pay on Warlight.net. To start with this list of people who would like to volunteer to be a moderator without pay, if moderators were allowed on Warlight.net, I will start the list:

I would like to volunteer to be a moderator without pay on Warlight.net because I am tired of cheaters, players bullying me, players reporting me for false accusations, I want to make Warlight.net safer, I want to help other players with problems with other players, and I just want to read the reports when people report other players. I will support moderators as long as they can still play Warlight games. I will also like to see moderators creating blogs for Warlight.net.

I, for one, don't see the need for it. Have had no issues.

Haven't come across any "cheaters" since I've been here. Just people booting for an easy win. The fix is as simple as putting them on your block list~

Precisely it agra...

And even then, I refuse to criticize booters since you enter a game knowing what the boot time is. If you can't comply with the time then simply don't play!

the only real need I could see for moderators, would be in custom games, namely variants.. in which case the host should be allowed to forfeit his seat to become a moderator *for that game* Imho of course..

but what is the actual duty of a moderator? What could happen if we can't handle all the issues/appeals effectively, becoz of our work in real life?

Do we need to follow up the cases until it is fully settled?

There will be lots of complaints everyday. How can moderators cooperate to deal with it?

Also we also play on WL and we got friends here. How can we ensure it is 100% unbiased all the time?

Interesting questions, Bumblebee, I will answer them:

1.The actual duty of a moderator would be to help others with issues on Warlight.net, they would read the reports from people reporting other people, they would make the blogs, they will read the forums to make sure they are appropriate, and they would also read the forums under the "Bugs" section, and maybe answer some questions there.

2.If you couldn't handle all the issues effectively, because of your work in real life, then I am sure you could squeeze some time in for being a moderator, and if you can't, then you shouldn't be a moderator at all.

3.Well, you wouldn't have to follow up the cases until they are settled because there will probably be different levels of moderators who will pass on cases that they can't fix to higher-leveled moderators.

4.The moderators can cooperate to deal with the complaints, by fixing a certain number of complaints, or replying back to those complaints, or if they can't fix it, then pass it on to a higher-leveled moderator.

5.Well, we can make sure it is 100% unbias all the time by a certain amount of people, who are the highest-leveled moderator to watch over the moderators that have just started for a certain amount of time, until they are at a certain level.

I hope that answers all of your questions, I hope you want to volunteer to be an unpaid moderator to help fix the problems on Warlight.net, because the ever-growing Warlight.net, will need moderators, sooner or later.

Interesting question, Knoebber, the power granted to a moderator will probably be granted by promotions and different levels, or ranks, will have more power than the lower-ranked, or lower-leveled moderators. I am not the creator of Warlight.net, so if I was Fizzer, and I was creating a moderator system, then I would base the system on ranks and/or levels. I may not answer all of your questions here, since I am only one person, but I hope I answer most of your questions.

I think any community will have worthy members willing to step forward for this, given the need. The real question is whether Fizzer sees the need and is willing to sift the unworthy out. Given what I've read on the forums previously, I would guess not.

Well, I just created this forum to create a survey of how many people would like to volunteer to be an unpaid moderator, if a moderator system was created. If alot of people would like to volunteer to be an unpaid moderator, if a moderator system was created, then it would show Fizzer that it is well worth making a moderator system because then, he would have some help on Warlight.net, if the opposite happened, then it would show that moderators are not worth it and I was wrong. Either way, I still found some evidence and opinions and some ideas for Fizzer to think about, and he didn't even have to get any of it, so this forum is helping Fizzer with decisions, which in contrast, volunteered unpaid moderators may help with Warlight.net. It is a controversy on whether there should be moderators or not, so this forum may settle the argument and change the decisions of Fizzer, and this forum may change the future of Warlight.net... moderators on Warlight.net.

Well I already replied to the thread you are referring to, but I'll repeat the same message here.

|> *I am tired of cheaters, players bullying me, players reporting me for false accusations*

First off, there are no cheaters in WarLight multi-player, at least by the way I define cheating. There are cheaters in single player, but those don't affect you since they're playing alone. You need to define what you mean when you say this, since I really have no clue what this means. You might be talking about people who alter game settings and hope their opponents don't notice.

Players reporting you on false accusations isn't something you need to worry about at all. Every report is verified before any action is taken, so the people that make stuff up just get ignored, or sometimes have action taken against them. There has never been a case where someone got warned or suspended for something they didn't do, so I really have no idea what your concern is.

Overall I think you're confusing two issues. If moderators were added as you say, the **only** time a moderator could do something is if someone broke a rule. After all, you can't punish someone for doing something that isn't against the rules, otherwise people would have no idea what they should and shouldn't be doing. To this end, moderators are clearly not needed in WarLight today, as everyone who breaks the posted rules are already dealt with.

What I think you're saying is that you want the rules to be expanded to disallow more things. This is a completely different issue from adding moderators; you're putting the cart before the horse here. Adding moderators would only make sense if the number of reports exceeded my capacity to keep up with them, and I have no idea where you're getting that idea.

If you want to propose new rules you need to clearly propose what it should be. Generally, rules only make sense for things that couldn't be solved programmatically and can't be abused.
